Located in Downtown Greensboro, the 3,000 seat Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts boasts a $94M state-of-the-art facility that hosts a diverse variety of events including the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra concerts, Broadway and other live theatrical productions, comedy shows, and all types of family entertainment.

In its inaugural season in 2021, the Tanger Center served 415,421 guests, had 17,414 Broadway season seat members, hosted 203 events and performances and had 88 sold-out shows.  In 2024, the Tanger Center celebrated its 1 millionth patron. The Tanger Center is the result of a public-private partnership, with half of the funding provided by donors and half paid through a combination of ticket prices, parking fees, and a hotel occupancy tax. The Cemala Foundation joined other organizations, corporations and individuals to meet the center’s original $20M fundraising goal in 2013.

The Cemala Foundation supports a variety of Greensboro organizations. Nonprofits, early childhood nurturers, powerful workforce leadership and training organizations, strong public schools, and a vibrant arts and culture community are essential to Cemala’s vision for our community.
