Future Ready GSO

Launched on February 21, 2024, at the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Annual Celebration, the Future Ready GSO campaign is a partnership between Action Greensboro and Family Forward NC which promotes family-friendly workplace environments.   

Future Ready GSO’s goal is to have 50,000 Greensboro employees work for employers certified by Family Forward NC by 2025. The Family Forward NC Employer Certification recognizes employers that offer policies and practices that advocate for the health and well-being of working families and children.  

By encouraging employer participation in the program, Future Ready GSO hopes to foster workplaces that support and prioritize families. Research shows that family friendly workplaces often have a competitive advantage by retaining committed, top talent workers. Future Ready GSO promotes policies like paid leave, childcare support, and health and wellness benefits, which are backed by research to enhance productivity and employee satisfaction. 

Action Greensboro is a nonprofit that champions projects aimed at enhancing the city’s quality of life, civic engagement, and educational advancement and attracting and retaining young people. Comprised of eight Greensboro foundations, Action Greensboro solicits the ideas and concerns of Greensboro’s citizens and leaders in business, higher education and municipal government, and in collaboration with these constituents, works in a variety of ways to strengthen Greensboro’s economy and ensure the continuation of its excellent quality of life. The Cemala Foundation has been a partner of Action Greensboro since 2000.
